The Military Wives Choirs is a community of over 2000 women in 70+ choirs across the UK and internationally. We come together to celebrate a love of singing and a communal understanding that comes from our members' shared experiences of the Armed Forces.

Military life across the services can be isolating and extremely challenging. Families can move regularly to new postings, and for many, deployment means long periods of separation from loved ones. Life experiences are missed, day-to-day challenges cannot be faced together, and women in the military community often feel that they are alone with no-one to talk to—a feeling that can be devastating to mental health and wellbeing.

The Military Wives Choirs provides an opportunity for women in the military community to connect with and support one another based on shared experiences, and to reap the benefits associated with singing. We aim to achieve this through an extensive rehearsal and performance programme, as well as masterclasses, conferences, and skills development activities. Across our choirs, we estimate our network spends 221,000 hours annually making music together.
