ME is a long-term, fluctuating, neurological disease that has a huge impact of the lives of more than 280,000 children and adults in the UK. Your support will help us provide direct services, often described as a ‘lifeline’, and invest in critical research to improve treatments and understanding.

1 in 4 people with ME are severely affected by the disease, often unable to leave the house or their bed. The critical lack of understanding of the illness makes accessing appropriate care and support incredibly challenging meaning that in addition to facing multiple barriers, people with ME are often incredibly isolated. ME is the biggest cause of long-term school absence and people affected are 6 times more likely to due by suicide than the general population.
We aim to end the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with ME. We are the only UK charity providing direct support to children and adults with ME. Our services are often described as a ‘lifeline’. We support people with ME and their families to access the support they desperately need via our helplines, peer support services, advocacy support and healthcare. We work with policy-makers and researchers to drive change and create better future for people with ME.
