Situation
More than 100 million people are displaced across the globe. Around half of those are children and access to education is drastically falling short of what they deserve. More so females are 35% more likely to be out of school than their male contemporaries. There is an urgent need for them to access a world-class education to help them become future leaders of their communities. We will offer full scholarships to female refugee students to access much needed schooling at UWC Atlantic.
Solution
UWC Atlantic College hopes to raise enough funds to support scholarships for young refugees to join its community in September 2024. The college is committed to responding to regional conflict crises. As a world leading pre-university college and a founding member of an international education movement – the United World Colleges, it is uniquely placed to respond quickly to ensure the world’s most promising youth are not hindered by conflict and war and receive the education they deserve.
