Sexual violence can have significant and lasting consequences on survivors, including impacting negatively on individuals mental and physical health, leaving survivors feeling isolated and disconnected from their community. Other long-term consequences can include post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and panic attacks, depression, social phobia, substance abuse, obesity, eating disorders, self-harm and suicide.

We will use the grant to increase the capacity of our telephone Emotional Support Line in order to be able to take more calls and support more survivors, for the period of 1 year. The money will be used to pay for the software and subscription costs that are essential to delivering this service. It will also be used to support the costs of training and clinical supervision for our volunteers, essential to supporting the wellbeing and safety of our volunteers.
