StreetVet aim to keep the pets of those experiencing homelessness healthy, happy and together with their owners wherever possible, recognising that their pets are often their only lifeline. Currently less than 10% of hostels/homeless organisations accept pets. StreetVet are working to change this with the StreetVet Accredited Hostel Scheme.

At our 17 UK outreach locations, volunteer vets and nurses deliver free veterinary treatment, education and daily essentials such as food, treats, etc. to the pets of those experiencing homelessness. If an animal needed to be referred to veterinary practice for surgery, x-rays, or any other procedures, StreetVet cover all costs/ongoing costs as required. Cases referred outside of the 17 locations are also covered and the StreetVet Accredited Hostel Scheme assists hostels to become pet friendly.
