There has never been a more urgent need to address the state of nature in London. Many species’ numbers are declining at an alarming rate due to a lack of ecologically rich and connected green spaces. In the face of this crisis, we are restoring and creating a network of nature reserves that act as ecological oases for wildlife and people. Rewilding will restore ecosystems to help a range of species boost their populations including species like glow-worm, water vole and harvest mouse.

We will be focusing on rewilding London’s green spaces to restore a diverse range of habitats, including rivers, wetlands, grassland, and woodlands. Rewilding can incorporate a wide range of nature recovery projects at every scale, from pocket sized wildlife gardens to urban nature reserves, and landscape scale nature recovery areas. Rewilding can also help people reconnect with the natural world, inspiring wildlife-rich experiences, and well-being benefits to heart of the urban environment.
