The wellbeing & future of vulnerable girls & women in Zimbabwe, Nigeria & S. Africa are at heightened risk due to increased poverty, lack of education & gender inequality. The threat of sexual exploitation & contracting HIV has increased with the global cost of living crisis. Girls as young as 12 are entering the sex trade just to survive. Some women living with HIV experience stigma which leads to further poverty. These risk factors reduce girls’ & women’s opportunities to reach their potential
Solution
We’ll empower 11267 girls/women to unlock their potential & experience positive mental & sexual health outcomes. In Zimbabwe we’ll support girls/women to exit the sex trade through vocational & business skills training. At-risk teen mums will be protected from sex work through an empowerment program. South African HIV positive women will build their own homes through a block-building program. In Zim, S Africa & Nigeria we’ll deliver quality relationships & sex education to vulnerable girls/women
