Salisbury Hospice Charity want to to ensure that everyone at the end of their lives over Christmas 2023 has the choice about where they spend their final days with the support they need, when they need it. We want to give families the opportunity to create positive, lasting memories at Christmas.

Situation
Sadly many people at the end of their lives do not have a choice about where they spend their final days, this can be very traumatic but more so at Christmas time especially for those who will be left behind after a bereavement. Patients living with life limiting conditions are often unnecessarily admitted into hospital at this time and have restricted visiting with loved ones in a hospital environment. Once bereaved families face a wait to have the bereavement support they desperately need.
Solution
We will ensure that all predicted deaths in our community are supported over the Christmas period by giving people the choice about where they spend their final days. Families and patients will be supported to create positive lasting memories and offered timely bereavement care.
