For many people detained under immigration powers, our helpline is the first point of call for free legal advice. And, last year we received over 7,000 calls from people speaking more than 25 languages. Language should never be a barrier to justice. Donate now to help us pay for translators.

    Situation

Across the UK thousands of people are locked up in removal centres & prisons under immigration powers. Hidden from the public eye, ‘migrants’, including many people who were born or raised in the UK or have lived here for decades, are torn away from their families & locked up indefinitely. Isolated & terrified of deportation they face an exhausting battle against the Home Office to fight for their liberty & prove their right to remain in the UK - often without legal advice or translators.

    Solution

Our adviceline receives more than 7,000 calls a year and provides free legal advice to help people exercise their human rights and apply for immigration bail. With interpreter costs rising, donations to this campaign will enable us to continue to ensure that language is not a barrier to our support.
