Support people with prior convictions into employment. For our candidates the prohibitive costs of basic yet vital items make starting work impossible. Our hardship fund is essential for meeting these small financial costs such as: first month’s travel pass, mobile top-ups, work wear and ID.

Only 23% of prison leavers are in full-time work a year after release. Without work, around 60% will have committed another crime within 2 years of release. This has a detrimental effect on their children, on communities and on the economy. Most don’t know how to disclose their conviction, write a CV, access training, give a good interview or sustain work. Many won’t have the necessary ID to start work, enough credit on their mobile phones, money for bus tickets, or up-to-date qualifications.

By placing candidates in meaningful work, The Recruitment Junction helps people with convictions rediscover a sense of purpose and become role models across their families. We assist employers to navigate a person’s disclosure, onboarding and retention. We enable candidates to access the jobs market, gain confidence, disclose their conviction, and sustain employment. Our hardship fund pays for vital items needed to start work - ID, vocational qualifications, travel, interview outfits, PPE etc.
