Across the world, 771 million people do not have access to safe water. As a result, they face multiple barriers: dirty water makes people ill; there isn’t enough water to grow crops; children can’t attend school; and fetching water takes many hours and is unsafe, particularly for women. People are unable to escape poverty. We know the communities we work with want to change this, The Power of Water can make this positive change a reality.
Solution
Just a Drop implement sustainable safe water solutions, across the world. These are designed for each specific location, taking into account community needs, water availability and the local environment. Our approach has community involvement and ownership as a key part, vital for ensuring sustainability. Water solutions include rainwater harvesting tanks, sand dams, biosand filters and boreholes.
