Situation
We are determined to support more homeless Londoners this winter, many of whom have been pushed onto the streets by the cost-of-living crisis. Providing someone with a bed and meal for the night is just the beginning of their journey, they also need dedicated support to help break the homelessness cycle. For some, it’s the lack of therapeutic support to help them deal with traumatic experiences in their past; for others it’s the loss of a job, physical, mental health issues, or domestic abuse.
Solution
We work to provide long-term solutions rather than quick fixes for people who experience homelessness. We support people to address the underlying causes of homelessness, such as mental ill-health, family breakdown, offending, substance dependency or escaping domestic abuse. Funding will enable us to provide specialist support, including access to psychotherapy, education, training and employment opportunities - things that are crucial to leaving homelessness behind for good.
