When girls in India start their period, 90% don’t understand what's happening to them. Some even think they are dying. Working with our local partner VOICE 4 Girls, we’re running workshops to break the stigma and help girls understand menstrual health, so they can stay safe and healthy.

In India, periods are ruining lives. - Periods risk health - a lack of knowledge means sanitary pads are often reused, causing infection - Periods prevent learning - girls are often told they can’t go to school when they have their period, risking their vital education - Periods risk safety - parents believe daughters are impure, forcing them to sleep outdoors, putting them at risk We need to demolish the stigma and change the narrative. We believe in period dignity for everyone.

Through our local partner VOICE 4 Girls, we’re running workshops on puberty and menstrual health. In a safe space, girls learn what’s happening to their bodies and are taught period hygiene, including how to use sanitary products. By combining the workshops with other vital topics like career options and decision making, there is less resistance from the community for their daughters to attend, ensuring as many girls as possible can benefit.
