Since last year, the percentage of people who have experienced severe food insecurity in Bristol has doubled. The combination of COVID-19, the fuel crisis and cost of living crisis has had a devastating effect on communities who were already struggling to make ends meet. It is estimated that 8.1% of households in Bristol have experience moderate to severe food insecurity in the past 12 months, whereby they are unable to consume adequate quality or quantity of food for health.

We believe everyone should have access to, and the skills to prepare healthy, affordable food that’s good for people and the planet. Based in Knowle West, an area of multiple deprivation, we work to reduce hunger, improve health and bring people together through food and cooking. Alongside free cooking classes to disadvantaged groups of people, we send recipe kits every week to families experiencing food insecurity to provide them with a free, healthy, meal to cook from scratch together
