A Local Government Association has stated "the pandemic and now the cost-of-living crisis have combined to have a devastating impact on the health and welfare of children". The need to prioritise mental health support for young people has never been greater and the demand for Kids Inspire services has never been higher. Referrals have more than doubled, from 19 per week in 2019 to 40 per week, and the nature of referrals is increasingly complex.

Kids Inspire's multi-disciplinary team includes psychologists, therapists, counsellors and social workers who specialise in child and adult support. Through Talk Together, therapists provide creative psychotherapies, trauma resolution therapies and family therapy to help children explore feelings too difficult to put into words. Using a strengths-based approach, therapists help young people to utilise their talents and interests and develop practical coping strategies when they feel overwhelmed.
