    1/3 children in Kirklees are living in poverty which is the equivalent of more than 33,000 local children. Living in poverty causes significant stress. Money worries are most common in deprived areas and research shows that it has short and long term effects on a child's education and health. Cost of living has risen, with many families with young children now experiencing poverty. Child poverty impacts on children's ability to enjoy their childhoods and achieve their learning aspirations.

    We identify families struggling to provide essential items for their homes and children. We provide families with warm winter clothing and items for the home including curtains, duvets, draught excluders and hot water bottles. We help families take control of their finances through one to one advice and support, enabling them to effectively manage their household income.
