With unemployment levels in Masi close to 70% many parents can only provide one meal a day, some days none. Children attend school hungry. The lack of proper nutrition slows down brain development and cognitive functions such as memory, concentration, and problem-solving skills. They do not have the financial means to purchase uniforms or the stationery and books needed for class. With an average of 1:50 teacher/child ratio, there are insufficient resources, to help struggling children in class.

Offer free educational labs at Ukhanya Primary School to help children who struggle with learning to read and write in English and understand maths. Many parents cannot afford uniforms, especially during winter when it is cold. Fund and supply: 300 uniforms sewn by self-employed women from the Masi, trained in sewing, for the children from Ukhanyo to wear and supply the stationery and books needed for remedial literacy support. Prove meals for hungry kids attending aftercare.
