Pet Retreat offers a safety net for both people and animals fleeing domestic abuse. We provide emergency care for animals so their human can flee to safety, to eventually be reunited with their loved pets. CDCH needs YOUR HELP to continue to support those in extremely difficult situations.

On average, 1 animal every week needs urgent support in our local community whilst their owner flees domestic violence. With reports of domestic violence increasing over the festive period, we need your support more than ever. Although a refuge is a place of safety for people, they are often unable to take in pets. This often leaves domestic abuse survivors with a hard decision and reluctant to leave their home until they know there is safety for the whole family, including their beloved pets.

Pet Retreat will provide housing, love, and care (including vet treatment) while their human can flee to safety. Domestic violence survivors can rest easy knowing their pet is in safe hands until they can return to them. With your support, together, we can help animals and humans in their darkest hours, giving them the beacon-of-light they are so desperately looking for. Every donation will help fund The Pet Retreat Scheme, giving both animals and people the freedom to start again.
