Growing up in today’s world can be incredibly challenging. Listening, understanding, and giving support for challenges early can often stop mental health problems from becoming much bigger. Please donate so we can provide specialist youth workers in schools to give children the help they need.

Situation
Many children in Surrey are struggling with their mental health. We hear how young people are suffering with complex problems, from loneliness, depression and isolation, to addictions, eating disorders, serious domestic issues, and sexual abuse. Overwhelmed and struggling to cope we see some children turn to self-harming behaviours, missing school and struggling to be active. 1 in 6 young people are facing mental health challenges yet 23% say their school has reduced mental health support.
Solution
Eikon’s Youth Support Practitioner programme offers early help in schools when challenges first emerge. Our practitioners deliver wellbeing and resilience support through one-to-one and group sessions. They run focused groups and clubs including young carers, art and gardening for vulnerable students, and anger management support. Our work empowers children to build their skills and confidence to support their wellbeing. Giving them strategies to overcome challenges and live their best life.
