Situation
PAWA's focus is to alleviate poverty and gender inequality in various communities in Asia. Through championing education for teenage girls we are targeting the problem of dropout rates at the most vulnerable times when these girls are at risk of early marriage or trafficking. Schooling is a precondition for girls and women to take a stance against injustice and be integrated into society and the economy. Achieving gender equality in this aspect is key to sustainable socio-economic development.
Solution
Educating girls transforms lives. PAWA's mission is to support underprivileged teenage girls’ education in Asia. We raise funds from our Charity in the UK for various projects working with a portfolio of small Asian grassroots organisations that empower women through education. We work across 13 countries in communities where girls' education is not valued, raising awareness of the positive difference it can make. PAWA is working to break the cycle of poverty and disenfranchisement.
