At Safe Families we believe that no one should feel alone. We work with vulnerable and isolated families through times of crisis across the UK, whilst also expanding into new areas of London. Our aim is for children to thrive in safe and stable homes with improved family relationships.

Situation
Increasing numbers of families in the UK are overwhelmed by their circumstances. Unemployment, substance misuse, debt, illness and family crisis – the cost of living makes all this worse. The result is parents struggling to provide safe and nurturing homes. Families and, crucially, children need hope. They need strong support networks to rebuild their confidence and change their circumstances – before statutory services need to intervene.
Solution
We develop personalised support plans, driven by a family’s goals. We show families they have worth and a voice by listening to them. Families are matched with volunteers from the local community who fulfil the role of Family Friends (befriending), Host Families (respite hosting), and Resources Friends (practical support) where that support is absent. They build long-term, equitable friendships, focused on goals. We do this because no one should feel alone – everyone deserves to belong.
