There are well over 1000 asylum seekers in Leicester, living in relative poverty (some in destitution), and suffering from poor health, extreme isolation and loneliness. Almost one fifth have no friends or family in the UK and more than half have no qualifications. Asylum Seekers experience trauma, hardship and marginalisation. We are seeing a sharp rise in the number of new referrals we receive each week. These vulnerable people are in desperate need of emotional and practical support.

Our Emergency Fund plus gifts of basic items relieve poverty & provide a lifeline for those with nowhere else to turn. “You won't believe it I was literally crying a few mins ago not knowing what to do next when you contacted me. Thank you so much for arranging to send us money. I am so very grateful to you.” Our SupportHub provides a place to get practical help, belong as a community & make friends. There are English classes, & some volunteer with us, building skills, confidence & self-esteem.
