In Madagascar, 83% of the rural population live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than £1.50/day, and almost 50% of children under 5 suffer from stunting due to chronic malnutrition. It is ranked the most vulnerable African country to climate change. Children's opportunities are severely restricted without access to good quality education. Yet, Children are often too hungry or sick to study; parents struggle to cover school costs & schools struggle to provide good-quality facilities.

Education can offer a route out of poverty for individual children and their wider family and community, especially those in remote rural areas. We have partnered with schools over five years, improving educational facilities and teaching quality. We ensure children stay healthy, improve hygiene, and equip schools to grow food and prepare daily meals. We also help parents set up businesses to earn a sustainable income and support their children's education.
