Trigger are the creators and producers of accessible, inclusive and boundary-pushing live events. We create imaginative spaces and use our platform to highlight issues that affect us all. We are raising funds to support isolated asylum seekers housed in rural hotels in North Somerset, where we live.

Since the Asylum Dispersal Scheme was introduced in April 2022, local authorities across the UK have begun hosting asylum seekers, regardless of whether they are equipped to do so. Hundreds of people seeking asylum have been placed in hotels across North Somerset (a levelling up priority place and where we live) leading to extreme social isolation. Trigger believe everyone has the right to access a community and the means to connect through cultural activity. This is at the core of what we do.
Support will enable Trigger to: Produce a programme of arts and cultural activity that promotes wellbeing and brings people together through a support network, for the benefit of asylum seekers in North Somerset. Increase social cohesion through shared cultural events – with both asylum seekers and local residents - centred around food. Employ local arts practitioners and participation specialists to ensure programme content is accessible, artistically inspiring and though provoking.
