Supported families struggle with diverse and often complex issues, including: Depression • Anxiety • Social isolation • Post-natal depression • Low self-esteem • Domestic abuse • Drug abuse & many other issues. Currently, we are also supporting families to navigate through: Long-term mental health and anxiety & confidence issues, affecting both parents and children, as a result of the pandemic • Financial challenges due to the cost-of-living crisis.

A highly-trained volunteer will meet with the family weekly, forming a close bond with parents & children - providing support, friendship & encouragement, a listening ear, offering advice and playing & reading with the children. Depending on need, they will support parents to: • Establish routines for children • Manage children’s behaviour • Advise on healthy eating • Access benefits, grants & financial support • Use local services/specialist support • Get involved in the local community.
