FareShare Sussex & Surrey want to raise £30,000 to help feed people in need this Christmas. To do this we need to open a second warehouse in Surrey. This will bring an additional 200 tonnes of surplus produce every year for us to redistribute.

There are more than 13 million people in the UK experiencing food poverty, including 4 million children at the same time nearly 7 billion meals worth of edible food is going to waste. During the ongoing cost of living crisis, food and energy prices remain sky high. For many, the impending winter seems bleak once again. We need to maximise surplus food more than ever, to ensure we can feed hungry people this Christmas.

We are using surplus food, otherwise destined for waste, to provide healthy and nutritious meals for those going hungry in Sussex & Surrey. Our strong link to national and local suppliers means we can collect and redistribute surplus food in larger quantities than any other organisation. Our incredible team of more than 150 volunteers take this surplus food and deliver it to our growing network of more than 153 community groups, getting food to those who need it most.
