Domestic abuse can have the same effect on a child’s brain as combat does on the brain of a soldier. Help us to provide 121 and group therapies, activities, and day trips for children in Wolverhampton who have been subjected to domestic abuse so they can look towards a brighter future.

Children are often the forgotten victims of domestic abuse, but the terror and fear created by abuse can have a serious and long-lasting impact on their mental and physical wellbeing. They may become anxious or depressed, have difficulty sleeping, have nightmares, experience tummy aches and bed-wetting, become angry or withdraw, and have low confidence and self-worth. Sadly, the children we support often have complex needs due to the abuse they have been subjected to.

Donations will help us to provide : • 121 therapies including art, music, water play, construction play, and animal therapy, tailored to the needs of each child. • Group therapy sessions (e.g. virtual reality therapy) which create opportunities for children to bond through shared experiences. • Special activities, celebration events (eg Diwali, Christmas), and day trips (eg zoo, cinema) so children can have fun with their mums, siblings, and peers, and feel more positive about their lives.
