This Christmas you can gift a life changing eye test & a pair of prescription glasses to a young child for as little as £5. Your donation will support our school eye health programmes in low-income countries & develop our primary eye screening tests for thousands of young children who need glasses.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), restoring sight is one of the most cost-effective health interventions to reduce poverty. NHS research shows 80% of what a child learns is processed through the visual system, yet 12 million children worldwide live with a visual impairment disability and struggle to see the blackboard or textbooks clearly to learn at school. These children are often left behind in the classroom and do not have a fair chance in the education system.

Vision Action in collaboration with the local Ministries of Health & Education will build capacity within schools to train teachers in visual acuity testing, eye health screening & diagnosing common eye diseases in students. Additionally, we wish to assist in a healthy & comprehensive line of communication encouraging families to fully consent to their child being screened and endorse a positive social change within communities to spread encouragement to everyone who needs glasses to wear them.
