The Mulberry Bush is a special,residential primary school for emotionally traumatised children.They have often been neglected and abused,with a string of failed home and school placements.The 4 main residential houses were badly in need of refurbishment.Help us update these homes for the children.

Situation
It's important for the houses to feel safe,homely and loving,as well as places to have fun and make friends.There had been no major refurbishment in the 4 original houses for 10 years and they were starting to look tired,old-fashioned and unwelcoming.We also weren’t benefiting from energy/environmental efficiencies.Work is already well under way and the next phase in Summer 24 will see the refurbishment of all bathrooms,which are inflexible,tired and very institutional in their appearance.
Solution
Major work has been taking place in school holidays and our next big phase in Summer 24 will include refurbishing all bathrooms, toilets and shower rooms.The new rooms will be brighter,more homely and practical:safe spaces to bond and play,as well as keeping clean.They will also have up to date safety features to better control water temperatures and avoid flooding.Modern technology will also avoid water wastage and reduce running costs.Other work in this phase will include recarpeting.
