As winter approaches, fuel prices remain sky high, and the hunger crisis shows no signs of slowing. FoodStock 2023 is essential to stop thousands of local families going hungry this Christmas. With your help, FareShare South West will get surplus food to those in need and provide more than meals.

The UK hunger crisis shows no signs of slowing. Over 13 million British people are now food insecure - double what it was in 2020 - and families are disproportionately affected. Across the South West, one in four children are living in poverty. This Christmas, when free school meals stop, even more families will have to make an impossible choice between heating their homes or putting food on the table. Yet three million tonnes of edible food (enough for 7 billion meals) are wasted each year.

FareShare South West rescues high-quality food from going to waste and delivers it to 400 community groups and schools in need, from Gloucestershire to Cornwall. As well as healthy, delicious meals and food parcels, we choose groups that provide support services like debt advice, counselling and addiction support, creating routes out of hunger. This winter, we’ll work with local food partners to rescue good, nutritious food – enough for one million meals - and get it to families in need.
