Climate change is an existential threat. Young people in Africa and Asia face its worst consequences despite contributing the least to it. Their work, education and futures are at risk. With support, training and resources, they can find a solution and secure their rightful claim to a safe planet.

    Situation

Scientists have warned that unless we curtail the escalating greenhouse gas emissions, we will soon reach a point where global warming becomes catastrophic and irreversible. Leaders who hold the world’s future in their hands are not listening to young people. Today’s young people are the most vulnerable to the catastrophic effects of climate change and will be the last generation to mitigate its worst effects. Climate action will fail without the inclusion of the world’s younger generations.

    Solution

Restless Development works with young leaders to mobilise communities for change, create sustainable solutions and set up coalitions to address climate change. In Bengaluru, India, we have created a youth-led movement dedicated to addressing and solving the challenges posed by climate change in urban communities. In Uganda, we are boosting climate change education in primary schools. Around the world Restless Development is flighting the climate crisis through the power of young leaders.
