In India, approximately 35 million children aged 6–14 years do not attend school. 53% of girls in the 5- 9 year age group are illiterate with many teenage girls forced into marriage. In South Africa, out of a total of 18 million children, 13 million children live in poverty. The youth unemployment rate is an alarming 66% and SA is one of the most violent countries in the world with girls and women particularly at risk.

Christel House's proven model transforms the lives of children experiencing poverty. All our students come from households where the average income per household member per month is less than £24 (India)/ £67 (South Africa). Our 18-year Kindergarten to career program provides students with all they need to succeed: top-quality education, transport, nutritious meals, uniforms, healthcare, psycho-social counseling, family assistance & career guidance (which extends for 5 years after high school).
