Between March '22 & March '23, client numbers increased by 17%. Our advocacy project enables female clients & non-service-using survivors to come together in safe, non-therapeutic spaces to co-create. This is part of our work to develop opportunities & pathways for engagement & advocacy.

The impact of sexual violence is complex and unique for every individual. There is a lack of public understanding around the emotional and physical impacts of sexual violence. One of the primary reasons that clients report that they do not speak out is shame. Shame can lead to isolation and loneliness among survivors. To reduce the stigma and increase knowledge and understanding sexual violence needs to be talked about more, the arts provides a powerful platform to share stories and impact.
We will run a series of workshops & art sessions starting during 16 Days of Activism '23. These will culminate in an exhibition during Sexual Violence Awareness Week '24 to enable survivors' voices to be heard. The sessions will be open to female survivors of sexual violence and co-facilitated by artists and specialist sexual violence trauma-informed counsellors. Survivors will come together in solidarity to create and express themselves, with a focus on advocacy and wellbeing.
