Enrolment in early childhood education is woefully inadequate for marginalised children in rich and poor countries alike. More than 175m children, almost half of all pre-primary-age children globally, are not enrolled in preschool. In low-income countries, it's only one in five. Young children need nurturing care: good health, adequate nutrition, physical and emotional security and safety, and early learning and stimulation. A big increase in investment for early education is needed.

We work with local non-profits who support marginalised children to access the best start in life. With this project we aim to refurbish children’s centres in slum areas, provide nourishing food to children, train teachers and develop digital education resources to reach thousands of young refugees. We will also help those non-profits to increase the scale of their work through capacity sharing, offering mentoring and support from experts and grow their organisation’s impact.
