    Situation

Christmas is a particularly difficult time for young adults who have recently left the social care system. They find themselves forced into living alone at a young age, often isolated without parental or family contact and support. At a time of year which is so much about family and togetherness, many care leavers face spending Christmas Day alone.

    Solution

We provide an annual Christmas Day event for 50 local care leavers from across three London Boroughs - Hounslow, Richmond and Kingston - to ensure that they are treated with kindness, care and given the experience of a traditional family-feel Christmas that they deserve. This is not just about one day. As special as the day is, above all it is about community, connection and kindness - all of which make a difference to people's lives long after the fairy lights come down.
