Our vision is a community where disabled people and their families can thrive, feel a sense of belonging & achieve their aspirations. Our project will break down the barriers children and young people with complex disabilities face in accessing nature and their local natural environment.

We firmly believe that all children and young people, regardless of the complexity of their needs, deserve the right to access the outdoors and to have fun and play in it! For many disabled children & young people the barriers to accessing nature and getting outside are high. Transport is inflexible and expensive, families can be exhausted and overwhelmed, the risks can feel high for those with complex medical needs and finding information on accessibility of venues can be really challenging.

Our project will provide additional opportunities for disabled children & young people to get outdoors with their friends, in appropriate environments and in ways to suit them! They will be supported by trained staff, who are confident to manage each young person’s needs while out. We will be flexible and work with children & young people individually to find out what they would like to do and how best we can support them to achieve their aspirations and break down the barriers they face.
