Violence against women and girls has been exacerbated by the pandemic and the global cost of living crisis, with 1 in 3 women experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. There is a global rollback of women's rights with continued conflict and crises. Little progress has been made in ending violence against women and girls or in economically empowering women to realise women’s rights and gender equality. Astonishingly, less than 2% of global funding goes to gender equality or women.

Our vision is a future where there is safety and equality for all women and girls. The Circle raises funds and provides support to grassroots partners working on the frontline in their communities in the Global South and the UK. The funds we raise from this urgent campaign will support us to respond flexibly and efficiently wherever the need is greatest, grow our organisation and movement, and inspire more people so that women and girls can escape violence and become economically empowered.
