We believe that to help secure justice for women who have experienced sexual violence and other forms of violence against women, we need more feminist lawyers from more diverse backgrounds. This programme is named in memory of a young law graduate who cared deeply about injustice.

Situation
Currently, only around 18% of all lawyers working in England and Wales are from Black, Asian or minoritised backgrounds. The legal profession is incredibly competitive and minoritised women from lower socio-economic backgrounds struggle to get the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the workplace, competing for places against those from more prestigious universities and more affluent families.
Solution
We are committed to promoting and increasing diversity in the legal profession and creating an inclusive culture in which everyone regardless of their ethnic background can reach their full potential. We have therefore set up a unique paid internship for women from underrepresented groups to work with our lawyers who focus their work on holding the state to account for violence against women and girls.
