Adults with terminal and life-limiting illnesses in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire need your help. Your donations will make such a difference to them by providing outstanding specialist palliative and end of life care in our 12-bed Inpatient Unit at The Hospice of St Francis this Christmas.

    Situation

Every year we admit 220 patients to our Inpatient Unit who are too ill to be cared for at home and who would benefit from our specialist pain relief and palliative treatment. Family members can struggle with the responsibilities of caring for someone at end of life and seeing them in pain. When it is someone’s last Christmas, families want to be able to cherish their time together, safe in the knowledge that the patient’s every medical and care need is taken care of.

    Solution

Patients with even the most complex needs don’t have to be in hospital – they can be admitted to our 24/7 Inpatient Unit where they receive outstanding palliative and end of life hospice care in a homely environment, helping to reduce their pain and distress and wrapping them in a blanket of support. Christmas is a special time in our Inpatient Unit and every effort is made to ensure that patients and loved ones can spend worry-free quality time together, making lasting positive memories.
