    Situation

Most students in the Youth Symphony Orchestra (ABYSO) are from disadvantaged backgrounds and would not otherwise get this type of exposure and opportunity to expand their world views outside of ABYSO. There has been a recent spike in deviant behaviour by school-aged children in Antigua and this project has proved itself to be part of a solution to giving children and teenagers positive alternatives.

    Solution

We aim to take a group of 15 young world-class musicians to Antigua to support education projects within the Youth Orchestra, which will offer the young Antiguans some exciting opportunities; not only the development of orchestral and instrumental skills, but also classes in musical composition, songwriting and film music composition. This will open many new doors for them, and also enhance their confidence, mental health and wellbeing. All their achievements will be performed and recorded.
