Situation
Extern supports individuals who are amongst the most vulnerable and isolated in our communities. We work with thousands of children and families who may be struggling due to mental health issues or whose lives have been impacted by substance or alcohol misuse, suicide or self-harm. With the pandemic and now the cost of living crisis, our referrals have dramatically increased and many more individuals are in need of our specialist mental health supports.
Solution
With your support, Extern will be able to reach out to more young people and families struggling with their mental health. The critical supports we can offer will include counselling sessions and complementary therapies, including talking therapies and holistic therapies. We offer these practical mental health supports at a community level, helping vulnerable individuals to access the help they need quickly and without the delays of the agencies' referrals process.
