Our project is unique as we provide a safe place for children and vulnerable disabled adults to come, and at our centre we have three small classes of around 8-10 children and our team help them fulfil their day through sensory learning and other activities.

Situation
Many children in Mexico suffer from some form of abandonment or exploitation with little to no access to education. Many adults work long hours in the tourist industry and children left unattended to or exposed to different threats such as gang recruitment and abuse. Now imagine if a child is seriously disabled they can't move or look after themselves, there is currently no medical facilities that will assist, our project was setup as a safe place for children and vulnerable adults could come.
Solution
Open daily we have around 30 members that come to us daily while parents go off in search for minimum wage jobs. As many are living in poverty we aim to provide them with 3 meals a day and then run activities that help stimulate them depending on their age and disability or illness. We recently added a sensory centre with light therapy but we need much more resources for it to be fit for every student. We have 2-3 staff per group and additional carers for those children that need 24/7 care.
