The problem of isolation, loneliness and financial hardship experienced by many older people in rural areas poorly served by public transport

Our volunteer drivers provide a heavily subsidised transport service allowing older people on lower incomes - many of whom live alone with mobility issues &/or neurological conditions - to affordably attend healthcare appointments & social activities promoting health & wellbeing. Regardless of the duration of the appointment, the older person pays a fixed fee significantly cheaper than a taxi and is taken door-to-door by the volunteer who often provides additional support where required.
