We will support 5,000 underprivileged children, mainly girls, attending four large schools in south Nepal. We will distribute 3,000 free school rucksacks and 2,000 reusable sanitary pad packs, made by deaf and other vulnerable young women at the Lily's Leaves social enterprise in Kathmandu.

Situation
We are solving two problems: 1. A high drop out rate from the poorest schools, especially of girls when they reach puberty. This feeds into child marriage. 2. A lack of training and employment opportunities for vulnerable women, including deaf women who are highly stigmatised in Nepal.
Solution
1. We will encourage attendance at under-resourced schools by issuing 3,000 free school rucksacks and 2,000 free packs of dignity pads (reusable sanitary pads). 2, The items will be made by seven young deaf women working alongside seven able-bodied, marginalised, women. This is an excellent way to integrate disabled people who face such isolation in Nepal because of their disability and attitudes within society.
