Situation
We aim to improve and protect the health of our community, and improve the health of the most vulnerable, fastest. According to Public Health Dorset, mental health problems tend to be concentrated in those without sufficient social or financial resources to take control over their own lives. There is a real need for earlier, easier access to Counselling services to meet both lower-level need and to prevent deterioration in those with increased need.
Solution
We are asking for funding to help us run the voluntary part of our work – which is offered free of charge. We also have recently started a community counselling service to enable the wider community to benefit from low cost affordable counselling and the costs for this will be covered by paying customers, as the service grows. Our FREE service reduces barriers, provides better access, swifter support, and de-stigmatize whilst materially transforming people's lives.
