Maggie’s provides the non-clinical support which without can leave people feeling lost. Our centres are spaces where people can access free emotional and practical support, find advice and help with money worries, take part in groups and courses and meet others and talk about how they are feeling.

Situation
Following the pandemic and cost-of-living crisis people living with cancer are scared and angry. We know that the levels of trauma and psychological stress amongst those living with cancer is only increasing as people face worsened outcomes, delayed diagnosis, and severely impacted mental health. For some, the cost of having cancer has become so much that they are having to make the difficult decision to stop treatment to avoid further money worries. Maggie's support has never felt more vital.
Solution
Understanding every person’s individual circumstances is central to what we do and means we can guide them to the support that will help them the most. Our Clinical Psychologists use integrative models of CBT and Systematic Family Therapy to provide personalised 1:1 sessions to individuals and families. These sessions help people to see beyond their diagnosis, manage their stress and anxiety, and guide them through complex thoughts like dying, cancer returning, and the effect on loved ones.
