We know that mental health issues are on the rise across the Country. Data published by the RCHCP in March 2020 in their landmark report on youth mental health showed: 50% of all mental health problems start by the age of 14 and 75% before the age of 24. 1 in 6 young people aged 17 – 19 in England had a mental health issue. 14.9% of young people have emotional disorders Data also shows that females aged 24 and under have seen the largest increase in suicide rate since ONS records began in 1981.

We will deliver our free 6 week course of 1 to 1 counselling support for young people in Surrey to over 800 young people in 2023. We will reach these young people before the reach crisis point within 48 hrs and pair them with a relevant suitable counsellor. We will provide support online and face to face to best accommodate the needs of our service users. We will deliver this work to continue to reduce pressures on local statutory services.
