Situation
We work with schools to address the crisis in children and young peoples mental health that was exacerbated by the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic and now by the cost of living crisis. The children we support are struggling with a range of mental health and wellbeing needs due to issues such as DA, bereavement, bullying and the complex blend of problems that occur due to poverty, housing or other social issues. The pressures on school resources mean they struggle to manage these problems alone.
Solution
Working in partnership with schools and parents we provide a multi-disciplinary mental health & wellbeing service that supports 3,000 children per year. Having a mental service integrated into a school ensures that children showing signs of distress can be assessed quickly and offered timely and appropriate interventions that give children a regular time, space and consistent adult that use children's natural language of play and creativity to provide nurturing and healing experiences.
