The CVRP is the first taste of countryside West of London; a fantastic resource for 3m+ people living within 10 miles. However, situated on the rural/urban fringe within the Green Belt, it is under severe pressure from a plethora of development proposals, as well as the major construction site of HS2 dissecting the valley. These proposals threaten the integrity of the CVRP as a countryside resource for people & wildlife. We must campaign to ensure the landscape is given the priority it deserves.

We’ll address this problem through effectively responding to planning applications/developments, carrying out advocacy and petitioning to encourage positive policies that are conscious of the local environment/wildlife, and aiming to reach figures of influence (e.g. local MPs, national government, and local council leaders) to advocate for the CVRP as a crucial asset. We will also build a compelling evidence base and produce new resources to support our campaigning.
