The Green Match Fund will provide unrestricted income to fund our vital work for wildlife across Leicestershire & Rutland. It will enable us to protect and enhance our 35 nature reserves to benefit wildlife, inspire others to love nature and carry out conservation projects in our local areas.

We are extremely worried about the loss of biodiversity. Plants and species are declining at an exponential rate and the threat of climate change is upon us. But we do have time to make a difference; if we can create more space for nature, this will help wildlife recover and beautiful wild places can be restored. We need our nature reserves and land to be more connected to benefit wildlife across the country. We will give wildlife a voice and inspire people to love nature to reverse the decline.

Leicestershire & Rutland Wildlife Trust manages 35 nature reserves; from wetland to heaths, woodland to meadows, our reserves consist of some of the most significant wildlife sites in our counties. In addition to the vital work on our reserves, we will engage people with nature, work closely with organisations, landowners, schools, councils and individuals on projects, and carry out vital conservation work and land management schemes that help species thrive and protect the landscape.
